It's not over. The push to attach this to another bill is in the making.

This has no advantage for the U.S. and must be stopped.

Grisham, you are right. It is a sneaky and underhanded way to slip things through with minimal attention drawn to it.

The use of this technique is not limited to one politician or to one party. They all do it, all the time.

When will Bonehead and the Republicans get it that this is not going to fly! Or, are they trying to attach it to another bill they know the people want so that when that bill is vetoed by the president before the election they will have ammunition to use in the election.

We are on to you Bonehead!

Here's a petition asking for Boehner's resignation for have lined pockets from the pipeline deal. Let's get him out of the government and let him know we won't stand for those dirty deals.

I signed and put it on my facebook page too! I'm sick and tired of the R/TP and their *piggyback* bills. They are cheats and robbers and don't deserve positions of trust! :-(

I don't believe it will work, but Hope Springs Eternal, right?

Nookomis, unfortunetly this is a practice of both parties and has been for decades. It is why I support the ''Line Item Veto'' for the President. This type of crap has resulted in unjustified ''ear marks'' and bad legislation from both parties.

This has to stop or we'll all be sold down the drain.

Me too. I am disgusted at the dirty pool the congress uses to pass things the majority doesn't want or obstruct things they do want. Boehner is shameless. He doesn't care what's best for our future or what the people want, only what his corporate sponsors want.

It's really bad when people lie, it's even worse when they believe their own lies...Create a lot of jobs....sure temp jobs and then done with unless they're talking about jobs for environmental cleanup from oil spills.

ms, now that the truth is coming out regarding the other side of the claims by the pipeline people the project is not in anyway helpful to the U.S. The job creation and not being dependent on middle eastern oil is a farce and has been proven to be B.S.

Thanks for visiting.

People don't realize that all these jobs they are professing to create are not only temporary, but they are also jobs that the general public wouldn't qualify for, like welders, etc. Also, most of these jobs will be filled with people who do this kind of work for a living and move around following the work. The general public is too busy to pay attention to details.

Its just another GOP smoke screen.

Attaching Keystone to a pending deal to extend payroll tax cuts for workers, which has greater bipartisan backing than the highway bills, is another vehicle Republicans are considering.

This needs to be attached to a massive tax raise on the 1% .....and then let's see if the GOP backs it as an essential project.

Sorry Kavika..

I don’t have the time to read the article but will read it tonight. I do feel that the GOP will use this Keystone XL as a smear against Obama with regards to creating jobs. in the 2012 elections They are correct. If the Keystone XL was approved, there would be many jobs created…

But these jobs created would be to clean up the god-awful mess that the pipeline would create.

I would much prefer taxpayers money support constructive jobs such as rebuilding our infrastructure then to clean up an oil contamination mess.
