In December 2010, the city of Clovis approved new policies designed to crack down on white supremacist gangs trying to stake out certain parks in Fresno as new territory, said Clovis Police Captain Vince Leonardo. Police now have more power to prevent gang members from loitering in public places and intimidating passersby.

Doesn't sound like it's working, does it?

grump, no it isn't working. If I remember right one of the scumbags with the attacker was the son of one of the cops. Sounds familiar doesn't it.

Yeah, but what the hell its only an Indian, right?/s There will be no justice for any of the First People in a Whie Man's court. And people wonder why it is that I carry? This is one old Indian who will show you some frontier justice. They will walk.

Nutmegger, don't be so hasty, buddy. We will have to wait and see.

It does appear that there is some tolerance for the white supremacists by the police as they obviously feel they can get by with it. Let's wait and see what the court does. I suspect the the police might be a little afraid of them, too.

Everyone should be afraid of these people, not just Native Americans. I agree with you on frontier justice. It has worked elsewhere, as I recall.

grump, there is not much a body can do under those circumstance except wait and see. If Law Enforcement is afraid of these hoods then they have won. Orders should go out to start after them on any charges for they meet the criteria of terrorists and there is only one thing that they recognize and that is the power of a bullet. Nice to see ya, pal.

osda sv hi ye yi, kavika. I have problems with people of this nature. Over the years I got used to the stares and questioning looks but never ran into such overt hatred for which I am grateful. Most of the stuff that I ran into was curiosity which got cured by simply saying I am an Indian and that is why I am darker. This is a sickness that knows no cure I'm afraid which is why one of my friends Mr Smith or Mr Wesson is with me all the time. tsula

White supremacists are a danger to everyone--or anyone not part of their little club. They also like to make, use and sell meth. And, yes, there could be a few of them on the police force or at least people on the police force who tolerate them.

Nut,

Never, I repeat, never allow yourself to feel that the deck is being stacked against you. Never. If you believe it in your heart, you damage yourself and the things that are important to us all, I really believe. Stand up for what you believe and resist. Never allow yourself to believe the wrong will always win. Such a belief will break your spirit faster than anything I know of.

Why haven't her male companions been arrested as well, as accomplices?

Glad to see a follow up on this, Kavika. I was wondering what happened in this situation. Wonder why it hasn't been in the mainstream media? Because, as FIN says, "it's just Indians?"

Thanks for visiting screminmimi. The central valley of California is a whole different world then most other parts of California. Harrassment and attacks on NA's is not unusual. If we depended on the main stream media, hell would freeze over.

It takes a real loser to harbor irrational hatred for people they don't even know just because of their race, color, nationality or religion, and especially to lash out at them physically. One has to wonder what kind of self-image they have that makes them feel so inferior that they have to find someone they can lord over, harass, and bully?

In my experience over many years I have seldom seen a person who is truly satisfied with his own life and happy in his own skin and yet is inclined to hate others.

I have never either in my long years seen any operson who has been totally content about something in their life. Rational people either do something to improve their situation or learn to cope with it. Anybody who would use this as an excuse to harm another is as a rabid animal and we put down rabid animals, why not open season on rabid humans--the top of the animal kingdom? Works for me!

And what kind of twisted maggot covers his own body and face with tattoos designed to intimidate others? There must be some subconscious motive to hide from the world behind the tattoos.

It is pathetically like the Charter cable tv commercial about the kid who thinks that when he wraps himself in a cloak he is invisible.

Yeah, I know the term "sundown town". Lots of those in my home country, the Deep South. Clovis sounds like it stands in solidarity with that notion. A great place to raise yer kids up in. Liquor Stores! Churches! A whole gaggle of assbags!

Anyhow, since this incident has and is receiving some national attention Justice might just prevail. Had this not been published I get the feeling that there would be little chance of any sort of fairness in a trial sit rep. Hell, this might not even have gotten to a court room.

I don't know particularly how I feel about the "Hate Crime" laws. All unwarranted crimes of violence are hate crimes as far as I am concerned. On the other hand, I hope they hit these perps with whatever they can.

This is one of the reasons I have a Love/Hate relationship to humanity in general.....

If she is the only person being charged that means that she didn't turn in the other 2 people that were involved with her. That being said she should do the time that the other two would have gotten as well.

I do not think she will get away with this is any way shape or form.

I read in another article that Fraser is now claiming to be part Native American in order to have this attack not qualify as a federal hate crime.

Does anyone know if a judge or a jury will decide this case?

Patty Dawson has suffered enough. The guilty should be punished without further delay.
