Within the Native tribes some have adopted Christian doctrine, many have not and stay with their original beliefs.

Within the Ojibwe, Potawatomi and Odawa (Three Fires Nations) the belief system is Midewiwin and the Mide is the person that carries on the beliefs, traditions and are the keepers of the ''Sacred Scrolls'' that date back over 1,000 years and are written on birch bark. They are sometime known and ''The Grand Medicine Society''..
