Today was Wiki's grand adventure. It was time to go with me to the LA Z BOY store in Springfield. A road trip and we both get to pick out our recliners. Mine is a LA Z BRAVE and hers is a LA Z WOOF recliner. She loves to be comfortable when she's watching football. You can't call it a pigskin because she is friends with a whole bunch of piggies.

Now packing to take her on a road trip, even though it's only 45 miles, is an adventure in itself. We have to put her travelling crate in the back of the Explorer, including her travel bed, blanket, water, kibbles, treats and a couple of toys. Now we are ready. She's a bit upset     because we are not taking Big Green. She loves Big Green. You have to imagine me driving, the Redhead in the shotgun seat and Wiki riding in her crate like a Princess. Morgan Freeman would have been proud.

In this adventure I play the part of Morgan Freeman, Wiki plays herself and Explorer plays the Explorer other wise known as Eduardo, and the Redhead plays the Redhead.

Heading north Wiki was beside herself.  45 minutes later we arrived at the LA Z BOY store. I took Wiki out on the grass and let her romp and pee before entering the store. Upon entering the store Wiki charmed all the sales people and then started sniffing every piece of furniture in the store.  She was in sniffer heaven.

She finally zeroed in on a super duper leather rocker recliner with power lift. Being short she feels that the power lift is much better suited to her shortness. I had to draw the line at the power lif. I had to promise that I would lift her up or that I would put down the leg rest so she could climb up on her own.

The next little go round that we had was when she demanded a drink holder, that was another NO...finally, she settled on the super duper leather recliner without power or a drink holder. At this point she said that before she made such a huge decision that she had to take a nap in it to check out the leather to be sure that it was soft enough. Up in the LA Z WOOF recliner she went and was soon sound asleep.

That left me to pay for this grand adventure. This is standard procedure in WikiWorld.

There was a debate about the color of leather between Wiki and the Redhead. When it comes to picking color I get no say. The discussion took some time and they ended up taking three samples to bring home and check out against the colors in the ''Man Cave''..At this point my brain turned off. A Redhead and a mini doxie picking out colors for me. I might add that I'm color blind so having them do the color thing may be a good decision. Bright red is my favorite so you can imagine what my color choice would be...Even Wiki BOL (Barks out Loud) when I make color decisions.

Back to Eduardo, but first a romp in the grass. When Wiki gets excited pee is of major importance to her. Finally done with that little adventure we got back to Eduardo, loaded up Wiki but not before she had a treat, drink of water, rearranged her blanket and finally laid down.

Heading south on Highway 13, I was on a mission to get home when the Redhead spotted a Mickey D's and said that a Quarter pounder really sounded good. Wiki's ears perked up and she stuck her nose, she has a very long nose, through the crate and started with her whining.  I knew that pulling into Mickey D's was a must.

Two Quarter Pounders with cheese, fries and root beer and we were ready to go again. The Redhead and I ate our Quarter Pounders but had to share our fries with Wiki. Fries are one of the four basic food groups for her. Wiki is my name, fries are my game is her motto.

I actually feel like Morgan Freeman driving Miss Daisy or to be more accurate Kavika driving Miss Wiki.

The grand adventure is over and I'm exhausted. Remember if a guy goes to pick out a recliner it's one with a fish/bear/moose/eagle/ design or maybe cammo which takes about five minutes. Shopping with the Redhead and Miss Wiki is a whole other world. We were in the store for about three hours which is two hours and fifty minutes too long.

We're home now and the Redhead and Wiki are making the final decision on color, I'm staying out of it.

As a wise old Indian once told me, ''you can't win, so stay silent''..I live by those words.
