On November 28, 2012 Sonny Black Eagle, the adoptive Crow father of President Barack Obama walked on.

Sonny and his wife were guests of the President at the White House twice.

The President took the adoption seriously and called Mrs Black Eagle when he heard Sonny had walked on.

The adoption of a non-Indian into a tribe is a very serious business, it's not done lightly, and the ceremony has a great deal of meaning.
